3 Mindfulness Activities

Mindfulness activities don’t have to be time consuming, complicated or difficult to implement.

Try one or all 3 of these mindfulness activities today

Mindful Movement:

Hedgehog rock and roll: - hedgehog pose helps to build core strength and wakes up the postural muscles along the spine.

  • Lie on your back

  • Hug your knees into your chest

  • Rock from side to side

  • Then rock forwards and back, see if you can rock all the way up to sitting without using your hands

Mindfulness of Thoughts

Let go of worrying or difficult thoughts by blowing worry bubbles.

  • Using either a bottle of bubbles and wand or your imagination

  • Breathe in and gather all your worrying thoughts

  • Breathe out your worrying thoughts into a bubble and watch them float away

  • Or, you could clap your hands together and burst your worry bubble, and poof, your worries have disappeared!!

Mindful Breathing

Rainbow Breaths - moving the body in synchronicity with the breath is calming and grounding.

  • Sit or stand with your arms by your sides

  • Breathe in and lift arms out and up

  • Breathe out and let arms relax out and back down to your sides

  • With each breath imagine you are drawing each colour of the rainbow
